ART AND CULTURE | BRAND & VISUAL IDENTITY
Made in Hong Kong, made for Hong Kong
RES()NATE is the one and only magazine written in Cantonese that is dedicated to arts, food, culture, fashion and any other topics about Hong Kong. Starting from issue 24, the magazine has entered another phase under the helm of a new editorial team.
The journal sets a new direction from literature to lifestyle and culture-oriented, yet it still adheres to the philosophy behind — publication for Hong Kong people to preserve Cantonese culture. Therefore, the new issues retain certain elements from the past to show the inheritance of the spirit. The design of the logotype remains unchanged; the colour scheme is black and white with one additional colour per issue and a white space is reserved as the brand identity. To embody the transition from old to new, the cover still uses yellow as the main colour tone as in the first issue but with the use of a halftone pattern. As one of the printing techniques in old publications, the choice of halftone adds a sense of retro and nostalgia.
